Agriculture Technology transfer is the process by which agriculture science research and fundamental discoveries are developed into practical and commercially relevant applications and products which increase crop productivity and enhance farmers income level. Some stories in this section explain how transfer of technoloy helps farmers to become prosperous and improve their livelihood.

Agriculture Extension is the application of scientific research and new knowledge to agricultural practices through farmer education. Agruculture extension is assistance to farmers to help them identify and analyse their production problems and become aware of the opportunities for improvement. The field of extension now encompasses a wider range of communication and learning activities organised for rural people by professionals from different disciplines, including agriculture, health, and business studies.

Micro Credit is defined as provision of thrift, credit and other financial services and products of very small amount to the poor in rural, semi-urban and urban areas for enabling them to raise their income levels and improve living standards in rural areas. It also relates to enhance paying capacity of the people living in rural areas.   

Self-help groups are voluntary, small group structures for mutual aid and the accomplishment of a special purpose. They are usually formed by peers who have come together for mutual assistance in satisfying a common need, overcoming a common handicap or life-disrupting problem and bringing about desired social and/or personal change. The initiators of such groups emphasize face-to-face social interactions and the assumption of personal responsibility by members. They often provide material assistance, as well as emotional support; they are frequently "cause" oriented, and promulgate an ideology or values through which members may attain an enhanced sense of personal identity. Some success stories in the field of agriculture presented in this section are possible due to SHG joint participation.
